Assistance is available to you and to your spouse if you are eligible for dependent coverage.

There is no cost to you or your spouse.

The Health Plan has partnered with the American Cancer Society and Optum to offer a Stop Smoking Program. The program uses a combination of phone counseling and nicotine replacement drugs to achieve some of the highest “quit rates” in the country.

All you have to do is call the toll-free Quitline at 1-866-QUIT-4-LIFE (1-866-784-8454) to speak to one of the trained counselors. Identify yourself as a “UFCW Midwest Health Plan” member and be ready to provide the ID number from the upper left corner of your UFCW/BlueCross health ID card.

You can get more information on-line by visitng the QuitLine website at quitnow.net.

Recent studies show that the nicotine levels in the most popular brands of cigarettes have increased by over 10% in the last decade. This makes cigarettes more addictive and harder to quit. If this trend continues, it will be tougher to quit in the future than it is now. Don’t let this happen to you.

Free yourself from the burden tobacco is placing on your life. Call the QuitlLne tollfree at 1-866-QUIT-4-LIFE (1-866-784-8454) today.
